Ginevra Tamberi

La Tenace

Born and raised in Rome, Ginevra studied at the Lycée Français growing up and became quadrilingual at an early age, helping to shape her international ambition and well -travelled identity. After receiving her Baccalaureate, she went on to graduate with honors at the London Met University in Broadcast and Film Production. While debating whether cinema was her true passion, at the age of 21, she landed an exclusive internship in New York, working on Woody Allen’s Blue Jasmine. That opportunity changed her life forever as it led her to work with the director and his team on future productions. After completing five feature films, one Broadway show and one television series with Mr. Allen, she embarked on a new path to work at the Los Angeles based production company, Good Films as Associate Producer. This afforded her the opportunity to work on City of Lies starring Johnny Depp and Forest Whitaker, and in development on The Postcard Killings. While a great opportunity, she missed New York and decided to return for personal reasons, only to get offered a role with Amazon Studios in Los Angeles. Ginevra currently holds the title of Local Original Movies Executive for Amazon Studios in Los Angeles.

What do you do in your life (work and fun)?

Throughout the week, I am developing feature film projects in five different countries and for leisure, I’m either reading a book by the beach, hiking a canyon, biking PCH, swimming in the ocean, going on a day trip adventure with friends or playing beach volleyball with Alexo.

What made you leave Italy and chose Los Angeles?

Growing up I never felt like I truly belonged in my surroundings, I was perpetually looking for something new, something that made me feel at ease. I was fortunate enough to have parents that always encouraged me to travel and experience new cultures so I knew I was going to start a new journey as soon as I went to university. London was the first step to leaving Italy and I progressively kept moving westward without ever looking back.

Please share your best memory in the City.

I think the best memory was driving down PCH after having done a 1km swim training in the ocean and feeling for the first time in a long time at home and at peace.

What made you choose this specific location and outfit?

When I first moved to LA, I was going through a difficult time in my personal life and I was in desperate need of a quiet place. That’s when I discovered Point Dume, I would spend many early mornings there and eventually started seeing people training for triathlons and iron mans. That’s where I discovered my passion for triathlons, a very healing and fulfilling experience that I treasure. I chose this outfit because I love how black becomes a character in black and white photography becoming a focal point.

Your thought about this project, ITALIANY.US

My job has always surrounded me with mostly American friends so I never really had a huge group of Italians here. I think it is so inspiring seeing what other people have achieved coming to the US and reading all these stories makes me so proud to belong to a country that has such incredible, interesting, motivating people. I think these stories are all about hope, perseverance and motivation which I hope will touch the hearts of many Italians that want to leave and are afraid to or don’t know how to take the first step. If we did it, so can you.

How would you describe being an ambassador of the Italian style/culture abroad?

I have always been extremely proud of my origins, I think growing up in a city like Rome where you walk through centuries without even being aware of it, gives you this innate longing for aesthetically beautiful surroundings and strong culture. There is a constant appreciation of the present that I am very happy to share here. We were born in the most beautiful country in the world, famous for our culture, food, lifestyle, the warmth of the people, these characteristics are what makes Italy special and I want to share this with whoever lands next to me.
