Ezio Burani
Il Visionario
Ezio grew up inside piles of Vogue Italia. He studied at Scuola d’Arte, Università del Progetto and Fabbrica, beginning his design career in the early 90’s. He became a partner at ‘it’ Italian agency where he contributed to many classic campaigns for Discovery Channel, Max Mara, and Vodafone. While couch surfing across Europe he dared himself to start anew and open an agency in a place he’d never been before, and bought a plane ticket to New York. While packing his luggage, he received a call. Two weeks later, over lunch in Williamsburg, QNY was born. To date, he likes nothing more than collecting Beatles vinyl. You can find him scouting flea markets across the world.
I like nothing more than collecting Beatles vinyl and being the founder and creative director of my design agency.
I wanted a challenge, a dream. To open an agency in NY is like playing in the Champion League for a soccer player! But in one word – ENERGY.
I remember standing on a rooftop looking at lower Manhattan and thinking this is my home, I belong here. My best memory of the city is that day.
NYC is a door to the world. We have clients in New York, Texas, Miami, San Francisco, Los Angeles, and Las Vegas among many others… something I could not even imagine when I was living in Italy.
This project has special meaning to me, especially during this tough economic time in Italy. Every day I receive emails from Italy, people who would love to try an experience here. Sometime it seems as if they want to escape. We, ITALIANY, are living in a place that many others are dreaming of living in. I embrace that every day.
I bring my Italian heritage to my work daily. My design aesthetic, my sense of style and composition is in essence Italian.
