Roberto Croci
La Bestia
I am Roberto Croci. I am Italian. Born in Milan, I have been roaming in the United States for the last 25 years, in search of the Tribes which make up their social texture. Parliamentary Interpreter for Dino De Laurentiis for more than 15 years and 100 movies, I kind of grew in the City of Angels where I still live, forever interested in the underground cultures that LA (it) has to offer. In love with the american dream, I have become a movie producer, a radio & tv host, a sports commentator, a writer, a stand up comedian and, since 2007, after a Gore Vidal & Michael Jackson interviews, a journalist, the foreign correspondent for italian L’uomo Vogue, Gioia, Max, Velvet, XL Repubblica, Elle and Urban magazine.
I interview all sorts of people, from every walk of life, hopes & dreams from Hollywood to the everyday man. I constantly look for rebels like me, whose motto is Never give up, never surrender. My dream is to finally have a tv show called Le Avventure della Bestia, where I show ITALIAN KIDS, what’s going on here. For real. Sponsor anyone? FUN: Shoot video, films and other tv ideas that might never see the light of day: but that is the FUN PART.
There was more out there, then small minded italian people-politics and provincialism, and I knew in 1986, when I bought a one way ticket MILANO-LAX I was right. Although, I missed out on family for the last 25 year.
At home, 1992, crying my eyes out during the L.A. riots. I was one of them. Other good moments: my pregnant-wife-Roberta & Me during a Portishead concert in Santa Monica; first time I did fucking surf at Manhattan Beach Pier; the circle-drum at Venice Beach, Eminem & Michael Jackson BAD Tour, AND ABOVE ALL, every time I jump on my 125 Vespa Primavera and roam free the streets of L.A. I owe them.
Venice, because that is where i choose to live. The Venice Canals because that is my home. Blu&White collar shirt because I am italian, style is part of our DNA. The yellow crocs and the apron….because…that is my style. La Bestia.
Nice project. Love the idea. I did the same for tv, Italiani Si Nasce, for all of us who had a dream and left home & family (don’t you forget!) in oder to pursue it. Bravo Alexo.
Proud of my family, my culture, my roots and the never ending quest for the best italian espresso, I am here to tell you that… garlic bread is for suckers (even if I I like it).
